Fantasy Two---One Room School---1900
My second project wasn’t completed until after I retired in 1994. I built a small one-room school in a workshop class run by the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys at their annual September Show in 1991. I completed this project as an old-fashioned school in the 1900s period. I first showed it in the fall of 1994 in the display case in the front hall of the elementary school in Nederland, Colorado, where I had ended my teaching career in June of that year. The next year I showed it at the Museum Show in Denver. This one-room schoolhouse is an idealized rendition including Hispanic, native American, black, and white children. All are cheerful, well fed, and well dressed!
