Not all people who love miniatures focus on the same aspect of the hobby.  Some are dealers, some are collectors of valuable pieces, some are artisans, some want to learn how to make everything themselves.  I want to create my fantasies!  I don’t really care if I have made or bought the pieces I use, or whether the pieces are designer items or virtually worthless, as long as they fit into my creation.  I will never have a flower shop and greenhouse in real life, but I can have them in miniature!  I live in a mobile home, but I can have a Victorian home in miniature!  I no longer teach, but I can enjoy happy memories when I look at my second grade classroom in miniature.

Some miniaturists prefer to do smaller projects like room boxes or single scenes.  I prefer to do whole buildings, but I do have a few smaller projects.  Some are table centerpieces won at miniature shows.  Some were created by me in workshops or as club projects.
